LSU Alumni Spotlight

Alumni Spotlight: Karen Solomon

Karen became a true Tiger when she completed her first campaign in a marketing & advertising class at LSU. After a career in public relations and real estate, she’s come full circle back to Baton Rouge as an owner of Tiger’s Trail RV Resort, Baton Rouge’s only luxury RV Resort.

Classes during her senior year gave Karen Solomon, 1984 BACH MCOM, opportunities to shine. She and her teammates made a campaign for a high-end product, figuring out demographics and planning print, radio, and TV advertising.

After graduating, Karen moved to New York. She worked in sales at the Ritz Carlton, then Ralph Lauren, while networking and enjoying city life, before moving back to Louisiana.

Switching gears, Karen met her husband George, owned a chain of movie theaters along the Gulf Coast. Karen also has had a successful career of developing and co-owning properties with her twin brother. She later became a mom to her daughter Katherine, who caught her parents’ travel bug.

Presently, she is a co-owner of Tiger's Trail RV Resort, located adjacent to the L'Auberge Casino Hotel. Guests enjoy resort-style amenities including a lazy river, an outdoor swimming pool, pickleball courts, a camp store, food deliveries from the L'Auberge Casino Hotel, and golf cart rentals to the casino.
