Jaime Glas Odom has never believed in choosing between substance and sparkle — so she built a life and career that embody both.
A proud graduate of University Lab School and LSU, Glas Odom earned degrees in Petroleum Engineering and International Trade & Finance, along with a minor in Chinese Culture and Commerce. She began her career in Houston as a petroleum engineer, where she identified a critical gap in the marketplace: flame-resistant workwear designed specifically for women. So, she engineered her own solution. While working full-time, she launched HauteWork, the first female-focused FR apparel brand, redefining safety apparel for women nationwide. The brand gained national recognition and was later acquired by National Safety Apparel, marking her first successful exit.
Glas Odom has always been more than an engineer — she is a collector of color, a lover of vintage novelty pieces, and someone who believes getting dressed should feel like a celebration. When a little girl asked her during an LSU football game, “Are you the Queen of Sparkles?” a second act was born.
Founded in 2021, Queen of Sparkles quickly became a national force in fashion. Known for bold, sequin-filled, statement-making pieces, the brand fills a unique space in the industry: elevated maximalism designed for women who dress with personality and intent. In just a few years, Queen of Sparkles has expanded into more than 1,000 retailers nationwide and secured over 45 collegiate licenses, along with major partnerships including Coca-Cola, Café du Monde, Universal Studios (Wicked), NFL’s New Orleans Saints, NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, Professional Bull Riders, Smiley, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and Whataburger, among others.
Glas Odom was named the 2024 Young Businessperson of the Year by the Baton Rouge Business Report and honored in its 40 Under 40. In 2022, LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business awarded her the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Queen of Sparkles was named a 2024 Best Place to Work and won the People’s Choice Award at the Second Annual Catwalk Furbaby Philanthropic Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week. Her work has been featured in Vogue, Forbes, The New York Times, and on the Today Show.
Glas Odom’s impact extends beyond business. In 2025, she served as Queen of the Karnival Krewe de Louisiana, helping raise $500,000 for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. She also curated and hosted Threads of Evolution: Engineering a Community that Sparkles, a special exhibition at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, blending her engineering roots with her creative journey and celebrating entrepreneurship, community, and courage. She and her husband, Hunter, are proud members of the Louisiana chapter of YPO.
Through grit and glitter, engineering and artistry, Jaime Glas Odom embodies the spirit of LSU. Bold enough to build something new, fearless enough to continue innovating, and joyful enough to bring others along in the shine.
The LSU Alumni Association is proud to honor "The Queen of Sparkles," Jaime Glas Odom as the 2026 Hall of Distinction's Young Alumna of the Year—recognizing her achievements that continue to inspire the next generation of Tigers.
