Alumni Spotlight: Scott Brignac

Scott Brignac, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Houston, earned a degree in communication from LSU in 2002. His first feature film, Playing God, was released in theaters and digital platforms on Aug. 6. Written and directed by Brignac, the movie stars Michael McKean (Better Call SaulThis Is Spinal Tap) and Alan Tudyk (Arrested DevelopmentRogue One: A Star Wars Story), Luke Benward, and Hannah Kasulka. The movie is about sibling con artists – a brother and sister – who try to pull off the swindle of their lives by promising a grieving, eccentric billionaire (Tudyk) a face-to-face meeting with God. Alumni Spotlight: Travis Andrews

Travis Andrews is a lifelong writer, proud LSU alumnus, and now published author. While he is currently a features writer for The Washington Post, Andrews started his career the second he came to LSU when he joined the LSU Reveille staff. Being a writer is all he has ever wanted to do, and he is now officially a published author with so much future success ahead of him. Andrews' first book, Because He's Jeff Goldblum, hit stores just yesterday.

Jay Ducote aka ‘Chef Tailgate’ Is Devoted to Food


The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Jay Ducote, food blogger, food products entrepreneur, and food radio show host, was in the Baton Rouge airport to catch a flight to College Station for the LSU-Texas A&M game. It was a trip he described as business and pleasure, but every waking moment of Ducote’s life is devoted to the preparation, celebration, and consumption of food.

“I’m going over there on behalf of the Bryan-College Station tourism commission,” Ducote said, airport sounds in the background. “I’m judging some tailgate food and making appearances. I’ll go to the Aggie midnight Yell and experience their culture to use on the radio show and podcast.”
