Alumni Spotlight: Ofori Agboka

Ofori Agboka ('98 Psychology) is one of our Black History Month alumni spotlights, as his incredible accomplishments and drive exemplify how, with an LSU education, anything is possible. He began his career at General Motors and spent just over 20 years working his way up the corporate ladder in the very company he started at when he graduated from LSU. About a year ago, he took a chance and moved across to country to join Amazon as the Vice President Human Resources, Global Customer Fulfillment.

LSU Alumni Spotlight: Harding bossier - A Century as a Tiger

Harding William Bossier was born in Abita Springs, LA, on June 19, 1920, to William W. and Clara Core Bossier. At the age of two he and his family moved to the Istrouma section of Baton Rouge, where he lived until shortly after World War II.  He graduated from Istrouma High School in May of 1938 and started classes at LSU the following fall, majoring in Petroleum Engineering.  [It was during this first year at LSU that Harding became friends with Alex Box, who sat next to him in a geology class.]

LSU Alumni Spotlight: Jimmy Bernhard and the Battle for the Rag

LSU alumnus and 1944 LSU football team captain Jimmy Bernhard was celebrated as an honorary team captain at the LSU vs. Texas A&M football game on November 30 along with several other Tiger greats. Bernhard was a tackle during the ’43, ’44, and ’45 seasons. He has been an instrumental part of the Lafayette and Baton Rouge communities since his LSU days.   Bernhard led the team during the height of the LSU vs. Tulane rivalry fondly referred to as The Battle for the Rag. Many Tiger fans are familiar with this tradition but there is a piece of the story you may not know about that involves Jimmy Bernhard.
