On Friday, April 7, 2017, International Programs announced the 2017 scholarship recipients at International Fusion. The scholarship was established in 2015 to recognize four outstanding international students demonstrating high academic achievement, along with leadership, diversity, and engagement.  LSU Alumni Association is proud to fund these scholarships and contribute to the diverse and rich culture of LSU. 

 

Dipak Kumar Singh is the 2017 LSU Alumni Association recipient of an International Student Scholarship in the male/graduate category. Dipak is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, with research specializing in Datacenter Networking and Deep learning. His expected completion date is Spring 2019, and his overall GPA is 4.027. In addition to his academic achievements, which are extensive, and aside from his duties as a TA in his department, he is the president of the Bhakti Yoga Club. He worked in coordination with LSU Frey Computing Center to deploy an IT cyberinfrastructure for fast and reliable big data transmission and analysis that is currently being used by multiple departments on campus. He previously volunteered in the Bihari More Education Project, which is an initiative by students, alumni and faculty of the National Institute of Technology Durgapur aimed to mentor local, underprivileged children. Mr. Singh is from India.
